How to Update Contact Type from B2C to B2B

In Accountable CRM, the B2B and B2C contact types are used to easily filter and manage contacts. Users can update the contact type from B2C to B2B by editing the contact details, allowing the contact to be associated with a company and enabling business-related fields.

You have two easy ways to update a contact’s type in your CRM—from B2C (Business to Consumer) to B2B (Business to Business).


1: Update a Single Contact Directly

If you want to update just one contact, follow these steps:

  1. Search for the Contact

    • Use the search bar at the top to locate the contact you wish to update.

  2. Open the Contact Profile

    • Click on the contact's name to open their details.

  3. Edit the Contact Type

    • Under the General Details section, find the field labelled Contact Type or click the edit icon at top right corner

    • Click on the dropdown and select the contact type option.

  4. Save Your Changes

    • Your contact is now updated to selected contact type.


2: Bulk Update Multiple Contacts

To update several contacts at once:

  1. Go to the Contacts Page

    • At top navigation bar click the contact tab from the CRM dashboard.

  2. Select the Contacts You Want to Edit

    • Use the checkboxes next to each contact's name to select multiple entries.

  3. Click “Edit Icon”

    • After selecting contacts, click the edit icon at top of the contact grid table.

  4. Choose “Add/Remove Contact Type”

    • From the popup modal, select the option for editing Contact Type.

  5. Set to contact type B2B or B2C.

    • In the dropdown, choose your contact type and apply changes.
