Tags are an essential feature of any CRM, allowing you to efficiently organize, segment, and manage your contacts. In Accountable CRM, you can easily create, edit, and manage tags to streamline your prospecting and follow-up process.

This guide will walk you through how to use tags effectively, including their benefits, segmentation strategies, and a step-by-step process to create and manage them.

Tags Segments: What Is Their Role or Title?

Tags are a powerful tool for organizing and categorizing information. In the context of marketing and customer relationship management (CRM), tags are often used to segment customers based on specific characteristics or behaviors. One common use of tags is to identify customers based on their role or title. In this article, we'll explore the importance of using tags to segment customers based on their roles.

Segmenting customers based on their role or title can be incredibly valuable for several reasons.

Firstly, it helps you tailor your marketing messages to specific decision-makers within an organization. By understanding the roles and titles of your customers, you can craft messaging that resonates with their specific needs, challenges, and goals.

Secondly, segmenting customers based on their role or title can help you identify opportunities for cross-selling or upselling. For example, if you have a customer who is a marketing manager, you may be able to identify opportunities to sell additional marketing services or products to that customer.

How To Create Tags:

Follow these simple steps to create, edit, and manage tags effectively.

Step 1: Access the Tags Section

  1. Click your Profile icon located in the upper-right corner of the CRM dashboard. Select Tags from the dropdown menu.

  2. You will be redirected to the Tags page. The page displays both Global and Individual tags. Global tags are available across the organization and are identified with the (Global) label next to the tag name, making them easy to distinguish from individual tags.

Step 2: Creating a New Tag

  1. To create a New tag Click the "+ New Tag" button located in the top-right corner.

  2. A pop-up modal will appear where you can enter a name for your new tag and Click "Save" button.

Step 3: Viewing & Managing Tags

  1. Contact List Filters

    On the Contact List page, you can use the Filter option to click the check box and view contacts by their assigned tags.

  2. Contact Details

    Tags are available on the Contact Details page, where users can assign or update tags for individual contacts. A contact can have one or more tags.

  3. Email Campaigns

    Tags can also be used when creating email campaigns. By selecting one or more tags, you can target and send campaigns only to contacts associated with those selected tags.

Step 4: Edit or Delete a Tag

  1. Click the User icon beside the desired tag. Select the contacts you want to assign, then save your changes. The selected contacts will be added to that tag.
    Note: Global tags cannot be edited or deleted.

  2. Click the Pencil icon to edit a tag name. Click the Delete icon to remove a tag.
